Celtic Surge

Join Surge Forward for an afternoon of performances celebrating folk, roots and groove music from across Scotland, Wales and Ireland, including premieres of brand new music commissioned especially for the event.

Burum draw on Welsh traditional music, adapted and re-imagined for a modern jazz sextet with beautiful melodies alongside fiery solos and deep grooves, led by brothers Tomos and Daniel Williams.

Eabhal share traditional Scottish songs alongside contemporary and self-penned tunes from their latest album 'Aisling' which came out in May 2022, with an array of new arrangements and both Gaelic and English songs.

Surge Orchestra will finish the day with their typical high energy performance, featuring tunes from their recent Beyond Borders project, drawing on traditional Irish folk music.

Sunday 23 October, 3pm. Jennifer Blackwell Performance Space, Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

£10.
